Start with accurate measurements

How to measure for Blåkläder workwear

Wear close-fitting underwear when measuring, keep the tape level and hold it close to the body without pulling it tight.

AChest

Measure horizontally around the widest part of the chest or bust, keeping the tape straight across your back.

BWaist

Men and children: measure horizontally at navel height. Women: measure around the narrowest part of the waist.

CSeat

Measure horizontally around the broadest part of the hips.

DInside leg

Measure from the crotch to just below the ankle bone, keeping the tape straight.

Choosing between sizes: for tops and jackets, start with the chest. For trousers, use the waist together with the inside leg. Allow for any layers you expect to wear underneath.

Men’s Blåkläder trouser sizes

The number is the UK waist size and the letter is the leg length: R regular, S short (a slightly fuller waist with a shorter leg) and L long. Blåkläder’s own size code is shown in brackets, for example 32R (C46).

Gloves that are too large can affect your grip; gloves that are too small are less comfortable. Measure your open hand around the knuckles (circumference) and from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger (length).

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the end of your longest toe and measure. Measure both feet and use the longer one, then allow 5–20mm in front of the toes. Feet swell a little during the day.

Blåkläder sizing questions

Are these body measurements or garment measurements?

They are body measurements. Measure your body as described above and compare the result with the appropriate chart. The finished garment includes the room intended for that particular style.

What do the codes in brackets mean, such as 32R (C46)?

The first part is the UK size: the waist in inches for men, or the dress size for women, followed by the leg length (R regular, S short, L long). The code in brackets is Blåkläder’s own size code, printed on the garment label, which helps when reordering the same size.

What should I do if I am between sizes?

Consider the layers you will wear underneath and the movement your work requires. For trousers, compare the seat as well as the waist. If you are still uncertain, contact us before ordering.
