The 3M FT30 is a qualitative fit test kit for checking how well a mask or respirator seals on the wearer’s face. It contains everything needed to carry out a taste-based fit test, with laminated instructions to guide the person running it.
The test uses a solution of denatonium benzoate, which gives a very bitter-tasting spray. A separate sensitivity solution confirms that the wearer can taste the bitter agent before the fit test begins.
