The Ansell AlphaTec 53-002 is a chemical protection glove for work involving a broad range of hazardous chemicals. Its MICROCHEM barrier technology layers rubber polymer with a plastic laminate, giving protection across a very wide spread of chemicals.
It also guards against secondary hazards such as mechanical risks. A raised diamond grip helps you hold items securely, and a special inner layer makes the gloves easier to put on and take off.
Key features
- MICROCHEM multi-layer rubber polymer and plastic laminate gives extremely broad chemical protection
- Neoprene and laminate film coating forms the outer barrier
- Raised diamond grip helps you keep a secure hold in a wide range of tasks
- Dedicated donning and doffing layer makes the gloves quicker and easier to put on and remove
- Anti-static properties help reduce the build-up of static charge
- Abrasion resistance adds mechanical protection and durability
- 14” (350mm) length extends protection up the forearm
Materials and performance
Neoprene and laminate film coating with MICROCHEM barrier technology, a multi-layer rubber polymer and plastic laminate.
Standards and protection
Certified to EN ISO 374-1:2016 Type A (ABCEFGHIJKLMNOPST) and EN ISO 374-5:2016 for protection against dangerous chemicals and micro-organisms, EN 388:2016 1111X (Level 1 abrasion, Level 1 cut resistance, Level 1 tear resistance, Level 1 puncture, Level X ISO 13997 cut resistance), and anti-static to EN 1149-3.
Chemical permeation performance
In EN374:2016 testing, the gloves achieved results against 17 out of 18 chemicals, with 16 reaching class 6 at over 480 minutes. Against ASTM F739, 16 out of 18 chemicals exceeded class 2, a test with a 10x lower limit to pass.
