This Click Medical kit is for workplaces where hydrofluoric (HF) acid may be encountered, such as industrial chemistry, mining, refining, glass finishing, silicon chip manufacturing and sanitation. Even relatively low strength HF acid is toxic and can cause serious tissue damage, so swift treatment matters.
The National Poisons Information Service (NPIS) advises that, for responsive patients, immediate decontamination is the priority after exposure to HF acid. The kit’s C-Gel then helps protect the affected area while the patient is taken to hospital.
