The Portwest DX458 DX4 Winter Trousers are insulated bib trousers for outdoor work in cold, wet weather. A waterproof stretch Oxford shell with taped seams keeps rain out, while Insulatex™ Pro filling holds in warmth.

The bib and braces zip off at the back, so you can wear them as full bib trousers on the coldest days or as standard trousers when you need less coverage. With 16 pockets, including pre-bent knee pad pockets and zipped thigh storage, they suit physical work that involves kneeling and carrying tools.

Materials and performance

Shell: Portwest Extreme Waterproof, 100% polyester 300D stretch Oxford with a stain resistant finish and PU membrane, 200g. Lining: 100% polyester, 52g. Filling: Insulatex™ Pro, 100% polyester, 160g.

Standards and protection

Certified to EN 342 (0.367M². K/W (B), 2, X) for protection against cold and EN 343 Class 3:1 X (WP 20,000mm) for protection against rain. The knee pad pockets meet EN 14404: 2004 + A1: 2010 Type 2 Level 0 when used in combination with S156 knee pads, and the trousers are UKCA marked.

Using the detachable bib

Keep the bib and braces attached for extra warmth and coverage across the back and chest in freezing conditions. Unzip it at the back to wear the trousers on their own when you are working harder or the weather is milder.
