The Snickers 1566 ProtecWork Jacket is a hard-wearing protective jacket for work in hazardous environments, including welding, electrical work and tasks with heat, flame or liquid chemical risks. The flame protection is inherent in the fibres, so it is built into the fabric itself.

The fabric is durable yet supple. Pre-bent sleeves and stretch panels let you reach, bend and lift with ease. A high collar adds protection at the neck, and a practical pocket layout keeps a tablet, ID card and small tools close at hand.

Materials and performance

Main fabric: 49% modacrylic Protex®, 42% cotton, 5% aramid, 3% polyamide, 1% antistatic fibre, 300g/m². Lining: 50% meta-aramid, 50% viscose FR, 120 g/m².

Standards and protection

Certified to EN 1149-5 (protective clothing electrostatic properties), EN ISO 11611 (protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes), EN 11612 (protective clothing against heat and flame), EN 13034 (protective clothing against liquid chemicals) and EN 61482-2:2020 (protective clothing against the thermal hazards of an electric arc).

Arc protection ratings

The jacket carries two arc ratings. The garment as a whole is rated ELIM 13 cal/cm² APC 1 (4kA). The front and sleeves are rated higher, at ATPV 27,6 cal/cm² APC 2 (7kA), giving these areas extra protection.
