The Portwest S427 is a hi-vis traffic jacket built to adapt to changing weather through the working day. It can be worn seven ways, so one jacket can cover cold, wet and milder conditions. The outer shell is breathable, windproof and waterproof with taped seams, and the detachable inner jacket adds a padded layer when the temperature drops.

Reflective tape and piping add to your visibility. A radio loop, D-ring and ID card holder keep everyday kit to hand. Thirteen pockets give you plenty of storage, including a concealed phone pocket and an internal tablet pocket.

Materials and performance

Outer shell: 100% polyester 300D Oxford, 190g, double PU coated with a stain resistant finish. Outer jacket lining: 100% polyester knit mesh, 60g. Inner jacket lining: 80% polyester, 20% cotton woven twill, 95g. Inner jacket filling: 100% polyester, 160g.

Standards and protection

Certified to EN ISO 20471 Class 3 after 50 washes, EN 343 Class 4:3 X (WP 10,000mm, MVP 10,000g/m²/24hrs) and EN 342 (0.341 (M².K/W), 3, X), with EN 342 cold protection certified up to -40°C. The jacket is also UKCA marked.

Wearing it seven ways

Combine the outer shell, the reversible inner jacket, the detachable sleeves and the hood to match the conditions. Wear the full system in cold, wet weather, the shell alone for rain in milder spells, or the inner jacket by itself on dry, cool days.
